The product

Counted Legal is software that helps a law firm organize sample and production practice workflows (matters, time, invoices for earned fees, documents, calendar hooks, and an optional bankruptcy checklist add-on). It is not a law firm, not a lawyer, and not a substitute for professional judgment. Court filing is always performed by the attorney outside this app.

Accounts and access

The firm owner is responsible for inviting staff and clients, revoking access, protecting recovery codes, and keeping the master key / backups safe. Two-factor authentication is required. Sharing login credentials is prohibited.

Fees and payments

Package pricing shown on the marketing site (Core / Plus / Optima) is informational until checkout is connected in a hosted environment. This local pilot uses Stripe test-shape webhooks and dry-run payments only — no real charges. LawPay remains a stub until a vendor account is approved. Invoices in the pilot represent earned operating income only; trust / IOLTA money must never be taken by card through this software.

Data and confidentiality

Firm data stays under the firm’s control on the host where this pilot runs. Encrypted backups are the firm’s responsibility to store safely. See the draft Privacy Policy.

Trust accounting, filing and phone features (pilot, DRAFT)

Trust accounting tools help a firm keep records; they do not hold, move or insure money. They are not a certification of compliance with Georgia Rule 1.15 or any other rule. The firm’s lawyers remain responsible for their trust accounts and reconciliations. Court-filing preparation produces drafts that an attorney must review, and this pilot cannot submit anything to a court. The phone and text intake assistant is not a lawyer, gives no legal advice, and creates no attorney-client relationship. The firm must follow call-recording, telemarketing and text-messaging laws, including honoring STOP requests.

Acceptable use

Do not use the software to submit false filings, to mishandle trust funds, to probe other firms’ data, or to circumvent access controls. Sample “Harbor & Pine” records are fictional.

Disclaimers

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED AS-IS FOR EVALUATION. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COUNTED LEGAL DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Liability caps and indemnities for a commercial agreement remain to be drafted by counsel.
